Stop the Wheel: 30 Levels of Timing (Miss Once and You Restart)
Stop the Wheel is a timing game, not a click-speed contest. You are not trying to stack CPS. You are trying to freeze a spinning marker on a target wedge before the wedge gets unfair.
There are 30 levels. Early levels feel generous. Each hit shrinks the target and speeds the wheel. Miss once and the run is over — you do not drop a life and continue. Best level and highscore are stored locally.
How a hit is judged
The game measures angular error: how many degrees you stopped away from the center of the target. Close enough counts as a hit and feeds a score out of 100. A miss is binary for the run — you restart from the beginning, not from the level you failed.
Habits that survive later levels
- Watch the target, not the whole wheel. Peripheral motion is a decoy.
- Click slightly before it “looks right” once speed ramps. Input lag plus animation is real on a laptop trackpad.
- Do not chase a perfect 100 on level 3. Survival through level 20 is the actual skill.
- If you just missed, wait a second before retrying. Panic restarts repeat the same early timing.
Different from the F1 reaction test
The F1 reaction test is a wait-then-click after lights out. Stop the Wheel is continuous tracking. Linking both as “reaction games” is fine; treating them as the same mechanic is not.
Play Stop the Wheel when you want a clean, linkable timing challenge with a hard fail state.
