Click Marathon: How the 1 Minute Click Test Differs from 1s CPS
By A. Pepper, CEO of Type Click Tests ·
A click marathon is a full-minute CPS test. You click for 60 seconds, then divide total clicks by 60. That average is almost always lower than a 1-second jitter burst and usually lower than a 5-second score.
Type Click Tests has a dedicated 1 minute click test. It is not a typing test. It is not the 1 second CPS burst. Use the marathon when you care about stamina, not a single lucky second.
How to read the score
- Total clicks — the raw count. 360 clicks in 60 seconds is 6.0 CPS.
- Average CPS — total clicks ÷ 60. This is the marathon number to compare.
- Peak second — ignore it here. Peak belongs on the 1-second test.
When to use each duration
- 1 second — jitter / butterfly peak. Inflated vs real play.
- 5 seconds — the standard CPS most people quote.
- 15–30 seconds — in-between stamina.
- 60 seconds — click marathon. If your 5s CPS is 9 and your 60s CPS is 5, the 5s was a sprint.
Animal ranks on click results use the same Cheetah-to-Snail labels as typing, but they are click ranks, not WPM. Do not mix a Cheetah typing rank with a Cheetah click rank.
